Our client is seeking a Sustainable Finance Manager to be based in Prague. The role involves regular calls with the Germany Office and some visits to Germany. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in finance and/or accounting with skills in data, reporting, project management and stakeholder communication. This person will gain knowledge about the impact accounting methodology, including implementation and use cases at the corporate level. This knowledge is gained in the most effective way by participating in VBA practitioners’ hub and direct conversations with experienced member experts.
The responsibilities of the Sustainable Finance Manager include:
Assisting Project Coordination for the membership of the Value Balancing Alliance (VBA).
- Project planning, including milestone setting based on Value Balancing Alliance SteerCo decisions.
- Preparation and follow-up of workshops.
- Coordination of project team.
- Coordination of partnerships.
- Providing updates and reports to CEO, core team: head financial market, director public affairs, director methodology.
Strategy and technical
- Co-developing strategy for uptake by financial market (data users) and regulators (focus EU, OECD, IFRS, IOSCO).
- Co-developing strategy to gain full support in corporate world (data preparers).
- Designing structure, scope, and visualization of impact statement.
- Content development based on welfare economics, data analytics (python/SQL), IO-modelling (exiobase, proprietary databases).
- Mitigating concerns and driving solutions for member companies: Investor relations, legal, assurance.
- Concept for interconnectivity with financial statement and integration in existing accounting structures (integrating IPCC, IPBES, IEA Models, TPI/TPT).
Outreach & advocacy
- Develop outreach plan, including milestones and respective measures.
- Support mainly CEO in meetings with target audiences (preparations, follow-ups, accompany).
Sustainable Finance Manager Requirements:
Have a solid background in finance and/or accounting with skills in data, reporting project management & stakeholder communication.
The ideal candidate for this Sustainable Finance Manager position should be inherently curious and a motivated self-starter who is keenly interested in gaining new skills in the sustainable finance space. As this is a developing area with no existing roadmap to follow, this person will need to be comfortable with a reasonable amount of ambiguity and working across different geographies and perspectives.
